Will the New 2023 Acura Integra Offer a Coupe?
The Acura Integra is making a comeback after a hiatus that started in 2001. However, the new sports sedan is a dramatic departure from the Integra that fans know and love. Still, will the new 2023 Acura Integra offer a coupe, or is it four doors only for the reborn namesake and its A-Spec trims?
Will the new 2023 Acura Integra be available as a coupe?
Unfortunately for fans who want a true-to-form Acura coupe, the 2023 Integra won’t pack the two-door, hardtop construction. Instead, the 2023 Acura Integra will be a sports sedan only. However, that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. According to TrueCar, the new Acura sedan packs sporty liftback architecture similar to the Honda Civic Si. That means the new Acura sports sedan will be practical, sporty, and fun.
The news doesn’t change at the other trim levels, either. The A-Spec Package and A-Spec Technology Package neglect to include a two-door hardtop coupe.
How much will the 2023 Acura Integra cost?
The new 2023 Acura Integra Standard starts at $31,895 for the four-door liftback. Moving up the trim lineup, the A-Spec Package starts at $33,895. Finally, the range-topping Integra A-Spec Technology Package starts at around $36,895. Of course, the Technology Package includes luxury features like the marque’s AcuraLink connected services, wireless device charging, and wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity.
All trim options pack the same 1.5L turbocharged inline four-cylinder mill with 200 horsepower. While that might not seem like much, it’s enough to make the Integra a fun alternative to other, more expensive liftbacks like the Kia Stinger GT-Line. Moreover, the new Integra earned a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
Does the 2023 Integra come in manual?
Fortunately for fans, the 2023 Acura Integra sidesteps the trends of automatic-only sports sedans in favor of a manual transmission. However, the six-speed manual transmission is only available with the top trim, the A-Spec Technology Package. While that seems like an unfortunate mandate, the Integra is in rare form, being a sports sedan with a liftback and a manual transmission. In fact, TrueCar says that the Integra is the “only car in its class with a choice of [an] automatic or manual transmission.”
Which coupes can you get instead?
Potential owners who were put off by the lack of a coupe in the 2023 Acura Integra lineup can find their two-door dream car elsewhere. For instance, the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro have evolved into sharp-handling coupes and convertibles with independent rear suspension and a library of engines to compete with European and Japanese coupes. However, if muscle cars aren’t the right fit for you, there are a few pricier luxury options from Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz.
The Mercedes-Benz E-Class offers a coupe, convertible, sedan, and wagon for fans who can’t make up their minds. That, and the BMW 2 Series makes everything from RWD coupes to the taut AWD M240i and its blazing launches. Finally, the upcoming Nissan Z and Toyota GR Supra are coupes with available manual transmissions and plenty of power.
