The Honda S2000 might not be the fastest, most agile, or even the best-looking rear-drive convertible ever produced, it’s still at the pinnacle of Honda’s engineering. Of course, the Acura NSX is still considered to be the manufacturer’s halo exotic, but the S2000 carries a strong cult following of its own due to its intoxicatingly fun driving dynamics and more-obtainable sales status.

The only issue for any prospective S2000 buyers out there is that the values for these cars are currently rising and it’s getting harder to find clean examples on the used market. But one pristine 2000 Honda S2000 with super low miles was recently discovered to be hitting the auction block soon. Will it sell for a six-digit sum?

This Honda S2000 is a “time capsule car”

The Drive posted the original story of Hedy Cirrincione’s 2000 Honda S2000 in which they stated that it’s a “time capsule car.” We definitely can’t agree enough as the silver S2000 that you see here was purchased by Cirrincione with the sole purpose of keeping it as a garage queen until the time was right to finally sell it. Fortunately for Cirrincione, now is definitely a good time to do so.

As the story goes, Cirrincione isn’t a classic car collector or Honda enthusiast by any means, although she does daily drive another red S2000. In fact, she grew up working on cars with her older brothers, who would often talk about owning brand-new renditions of the older ’32 Fords and ’40 Mercurys they would work on. “They used to look at all these old cars and say, wouldn’t it be great to own one brand-new with no miles on it,” Cirrincione said.

Then the silver S2000 came along

When Cirrincione heard that the silver Honda S2000 in question was for sale with only 24 miles on it, she knew she had to have it. Over the years, she kept the miles low by trailering it from home to home when she moved, although, a friend of hers did add 10 miles to the odometer once. However, with 34 miles now on the clock, she plans to sell it to someone that will “turn it loose on the road, and enjoy it for the wonderful sportscar it is,” Cirrincione said.

The car will be going to the Mecum Auction in Kissimmee, Florida, in January and we’re sure it will fetch a pretty penny.

How much will this S2000 sell for?

As far as how pretty of a penny the S2000 will fetch is really up to fate, but Cirrincione is optimistic and told The Drive that she hopes it will sell for around $150,000, which is the price of a new Acura NSX. While S2000 prices are steadily increasing, that six-digit sounds a little lofty, especially during these times, but you never know. It really only takes one person to shell out their top dollar for one of the best cars that Honda has ever made and take home their very own time capsule.
