There is no doubt Hyundai is producing great vehicles. Which one is right for you? With a much less significant overall difference in size, would you be happier with the Hyundai Venue or Hyundai Kona?

Hyundai Venue

One of the best things about the new Hyundai Venue is its starting price. The Venue is nearly $3K less than a base Kona, starting just over $18K

The Venue has a wide appearance offering a more athletic styling. The roof is boxy and contributes a look that is similar to larger SUVs. Despite its smaller size and smaller starting point, it doesn’t mean you’ll be sacrificing much. It comes remarkably close in proportion to the Kona.

Buyers also won’t be getting any less room, even though its five inches shorter than the Kona. Passengers will experience a legroom capacity equal to that of the Kona. Those riding in the second-row will have more headroom in the Venue by about an inch because of the flat roofline.

The lighter bodyweight of the Venue also helps it to excel in efficacy. The Kona delivers approximately 30 miles per gallon combined. The Venue is able to come out a bit ahead at 32 miles per gallon combined.

Hyundai Kona

While the Kona and the Venue share similarities in passenger space, the Hyundai Kona carries more when it comes to cargo space, literally. The Kona has an estimated 45.8 cubic feet of cargo room compared to the 31.9 cubic feet in the Venue.

The Hyundai Kona also pulls ahead with powertrain too. The Hyundai Kona has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder, while the Hyundai Venue comes with a 1.6-liter engine. The Kona delivers 26 more hp. When it comes to all-wheel drive, the Kona wins out. The Venue is offered in front-wheel drive only. This may be the deciding factor for those in colder climates.

Other options available on the Kona comes in an electric version, with a range of 258 miles, while the Venue does not. M

These crossovers are both excellent choices and offer great value against their competitors. The deciding factor between the two will be the buyer lifestyle. Do you carry more people or cargo? Drivers who need additional space should consider the Kona carefully. For buyers where budget is a consideration, the Venue offers a lot of wins within its compact frame.
