The Tesla Model 3 Performance is one of the quickest production cars that you can currently buy. Considering it’s able to get to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 162 mph, we can see why it’s quite the performance bargain. One Youtuber was able to put the Tesla Model 3 Performance to the test on the famed Nürburgring and came away impressed. However, the owner of the car, who was sitting in the passenger seat, was scared the whole time. Would you be scared if you were riding along too?

The Tesla Model 3 Performance was modified

While the Tesla Model 3 Performance is undoubtedly a track terror in its own right, Youtuber Misha Charoudin started out his video, entitled “Modified Tesla Model 3 Performance on the Nurburgring,” stating that the car’s performance is great, except for the brakes and suspension. This made one of his subscribers, named Max, to offer up his Tesla Model 3 Performance to by piloted by Charoudin around “the Ring” to see if the suspension and brakes modifications that he has done to his car quelled those issues. Apparently, they did.

Just to recap the breakdown of modifications, Max stated that he sized down the OEM-issued 20-inch wheel and tire package in favor of a smaller and wider setup as he went with a set of aftermarket forged wheels wrapped in 19-inch Michelin Cup 2 performance tires. Behind the wheels is a set of larger 390mm brakes, which are the same size as those found on the Model S and slotted for better cooling efficiency. And to top things off, Max said that other suspension components, including the trailing arms and links, were modified with stiffer components from Mountain Pass Performance.

It was a hot and fast lap

Needless to say, all of the work that Max put into his Model 3 Performance paid off as Charoudin put it through its paces on the Nurburgring. If you haven’t seen any of his videos before, Charoudin is a very experienced driver and it’s quickly evident in this video as he easily passes a Porsche 911 GT3 RS, a Honda Civic Type R, and a few other high-performance cars as if they were standing still. Max, on the other hand, was obviously not very experienced as you can hear him constantly grunting in discomfort as they handily gained speed lap after lap.

We admit, it was pretty hilarious and the comment section makes light of it as well. One commenter stated, “I love how calm Misha sounds while the owner sounds like he’s passing a kidney stone.” That about sums up the owner’s reaction to the hot laps, and to be honest, we can’t really blame him. Considering they hit speeds of up to 236 kph (146 mph) on the straightaways and were carrying a good amount of speed through the corners, we would probably be a little scared as well.

“Relax, it’s Sunday”

When it was all said and done, Charoudin finished off the laps and stated that the performance upgrades were exactly what the car needed, although, it did have an issue with the tires getting too hot, which affected its lap times in the end. Additionally, the car’s owner was able to calm down, finally following Charoudin’s advice when he told him, “Relax, it’s Sunday.”
