NASCAR is one of America’s favorite sports. Not only are the cars fast, but the competition is just as fierce as well. And, while automakers do offer some fast cars to their customers, not many people have had the privilege to own and drive a NASCAR car. Hendrick Motorsports is changing that.

35+ years of experience

Off the bat, Hendrick Motorsports does make cars for Chevy. So, if you’re a diehard Ford fan, you may want to look the other way. That said, Hendrick Motorsports is a prolific team at NASCAR. According to Hendrick Motorsports, its drivers have won over 250 times at NASCAR. The people behind the scenes who are actually making the cars also have decades of experience. 

Famous NASCAR drivers such as Kyle Busch and Dale Earnhardt Jr. have driven cars that Hendrick Motorsports built for them. And these cars are some of the fastest cars that Chevy produces. Hendrick Motorsports says that people looking to buy a NASCAR car will have a choice between the body of a Chevy Camaro ZL1 or a Chevy SS.

Race track-ready

And, make no mistake, both options will be equipped just like they would be if they were gearing up to compete at a NASCAR circuit. Hendrick Motorsports says that the car will be equipped with the Chevrolet Performance LSX 454 V8 engine. This powerful engine generates 627-hp and 586 lb-ft of torque.

If that engine isn’t powerful enough for you, then Hendrick Motorsports offers an even more powerful engine upgrade. Hendrick Motorsports offers the Hendrick Motorsports R07 engine which generates over 725-hp as well as 490 lb-ft of torque.

Not only is this engine powerful, but so is every other aspect of the car. Ford may be using aluminum to save weight on its trucks, but Hendrick Motorsports one-ups that by using an even lighter material. No matter which car body you choose, Hendrick Motorsports says that, thanks to the carbon fiber and kevlar composite construction, the car’s body will weigh only about 250 lb. 

The total weight of the car will depend on what options you choose for it. However, Hendrick Motorsports says that it will weigh at least 3,100 lb when all is said done. But, no matter which engine you choose, that’s still a very high power-to-weight ratio. And, unsurprisingly, since it is a NASCAR-ready car, it can hit almost 200 MPH. 

Other features and upgrades

In terms of the car’s other features, Hendrick Motorsports is also outfitting it so that it can be raced on a track whenever you’d like. There is, of course, a carbon fiber safety seat that has a six-point safety harness. This is, according to Hendrick Motorsports, the “gold standard in NASCAR” when it comes to safety. 

Additionally, there’s a cockpit fire suppression system as well as a roll cage. There are numerous other safety features inside it, and, just like the engine, it’s outfitted exactly like how a real NASCAR car will be when it’s racing around a circuit. 

One of those features includes a 7-inch digital display that’ll show you all the data that you need to know about the car as well as how fast it’s going. This display, once again, does exactly what it ought to be doing if you were in a real NASCAR race. 

While Hendrick Motorsports doesn’t give any details on pricing, you can expect that it’ll be very expensive compared to any other car. As Hendrick Motorsports has advertised, you’ll be buying a car that real NASCAR drivers are driving today. As such, especially if you choose to add any of the upgrades and options for it, you can expect to pay a lot of money for it.
