If you’re looking to spend more than $100,000 on a high-performance car, these three cars likely aren’t on your list. Maybe they should be, though. These three cars offer plenty of high-performance power along with a more affordable style. Here’s a look at the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, 2020 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody, and 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Z06.

2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

The 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is the most powerful Ford vehicle ever produced. Its 5.2-liter V8 engine produces an impressive 760 hp. This Mustang can zoom from zero to 60 MPH in 3.3 seconds and travel a quarter-mile run in 10.6 seconds. It also features a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the first dual-clutch transmission used in a Mustang.

 The 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 has a starting price of $72,900. The two other versions of the Mustang Shelby are the Shelby GT350 (starting at $60,440) and the Shelby GT350R (starting at $73,435).

2020 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody

This powerful muscle car has a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine producing 717 hp in the Hellcat and Hellcat Widebody versions. It gets 797 hp in the Hellcat Redeye and Hellcat Redeye Widebody trims. These SRT versions of the Dodge Challenger can accelerate from zero to 60 MPH in 3.7 seconds and travel a quarter-mile run in 11.8 seconds. 

While Dodge says the Redeye trim is even faster and takes 10.8 seconds to go a quarter mile, Car and Driver’s testing found the Redeye Widebody isn’t actually any faster than the standard Hellcat and Hellcat Widebody. It recommends the Hellcat Widebody, saying it looks and handles the best. 

The Hellcat and Hellcat Widebody offer either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission, the only one of these three cars to offer a manual option. The two Redeye cars come with an eight-speed automatic transmission. 

The 2020 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat has a starting price of $63,000, and its top trim starting price is just under $80,000 for the Redeye Widebody. The recommended Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody has a starting price of $66,695.

2022 Chevrolet Corvette Z06

For buyers who don’t mind waiting, there is the upcoming 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. It will have a 5.5-liter V8 engine with a flat-plane crank, which will give it a different sound. It should generate 600 to 650 hp and pairs with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. With its mid-engine placement, the Z06 has more of a European style than a muscle car look. It also doesn’t have a rear seat like the other two cars.

While the Z06 isn’t the fastest Corvette, it is the fastest under $100,000. The ZR1 is the quickest but starts at $121,000. The Corvette Z06 will have the ability to rocket from zero to 60 MPH in just 2.95 seconds. According to Autoversed, the Z06’s “acceleration and cornering capabilities are on par with the Porsche 911s of the world.” The currently available 2020 Corvette Z51 jumps from zero to 60 MPH in 2.8 seconds and completes a quarter mile in 11.2 seconds with its 495-hp engine.

Today’s Corvettes have a starting price of $58,900. Available as a coupe or a convertible, starting prices go up to $78,945. If you include the Z51 performance package, that will add $5,000 to the price. The 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 has an estimated starting price of $85,000. It’s expected to be available in 2021.

All three of these cars have impressive horsepower and fantastic acceleration. Of these three trims, the 2020 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody is the most affordable. The 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 generates the most horsepower of the three, while the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is expected to have the best acceleration. You really can’t go wrong with any of these three cars, though.
