There were murmurs of a new Acura TLX coming in 2021, and now you can be among first in line to see it. This new Acura TLX will have plenty of improvements from its 2020 predecessor. A teaser image was just released that shows only the rear profile of the new TLX. The only glimpse we see is a back outline with curves, massive quad-diameter exhaust outlets, and rear diffuser strakes.

On May 20, Acura announced they would digitally unveil the entirely new second-generation Acura TLX sports sedan on May 28, 2020. The new TLX will offer significant gains in design and performance, making it the fastest, best-treatment, and most well-appointed sport sedan in Acura history, with the Type S being the pinnacle of excellence for the brand. You haven’t seen the 2021 Acura TLX Type S like this before

TLX Type S marks the high-performance variant’s return after a decade hiatus. It will be the first to feature Acura’s new dedicated 3.0-liter V6 Turbo engine. The new TLX exterior design carries forward the dramatic proportions and design language first introduced on the Acura Precision Concept in 2016. It later evolved into the Acura Type S Concept. The concept turned heads in a beautiful blue, debuted August 2019 at Monterey Car Week.

Last year the 2020 Acura TLX received quite a bit of attention. Partly due to its impressive array of standard safety and technology features. These features included a dual-screen infotainment system with integration of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic emergency braking, active lane-keeping assist, and high-beam automatics.

Additionally, the 2020 TLX was the lowest base price tag of any midsize luxury sedan, starting at $33,000. We shall see if they can keep the price point low for 2021. According to Acura, the new TLX will “be the quickest, best-handling and most well-appointed sport sedan in Acura history, with the Type S being the model’s performance pinnacle.”
