You Might Not Get the Ford Bronco You Ordered

Ever since the new Ford Bronco made its debut, we’ve been eagerly waiting for production to start. However, as Ford prepares to start building the 2021 Ford Bronco, changes are continuing to be made. So, there is a slight risk of not receiving the exact model you ordered.

The 2021 Ford Bronco keeps changing

Holy moly, the 2021 Ford Bronco has already racked up over 190,000 reservations before the SUV models have even reached the dealership. Fans are definitely excited to get behind the wheel, despite the long wait.

Also, despite having tons of orders for particular models, including the Launch Edition, Ford has been making changes to help streamline its production process. Some changes may be a little disappointing, but they could help you get your Bronco sooner.

According to MotorAuthority, the three-piece hard-top roof will only be available on earlier Ford Bronco builds. The black, four-piece modular hard-top roof will only be available later in 2021. Ford sent this information to reservation holders via email.

The Ford Bronco 2-door models have the standard 3-piece roof, but the 4-door models have it as an alternative option to the soft-top roof or four-piece modular roof. At first, the four-piece roof was supposed to be standard on the higher-end Ford Bronco Wildtrak and First Edition models.

Both options start over $50,000, so making changes now could upset fans who already committed to this expensive SUV. However, because these models are now launching with the 3-piece roof, you’ll get a discount.

The starting price for both models has been reduced by $1,895, which is the cost of adding the 4-piece roof to other models. Also, if you’re set on the 4-piece roof, you can still order it. However, you will have to settle for a later delivery.

The Ford Bronco Sasquatch can be paired with manual transmissions

Now all of the 2021 Bronco changes are bad. After an uproar from fans over the manual transmission not being available with the Sasquatch Package for off-roading, Ford caved. The Sasquatch package will now be available for 2-door and 4-door body styles with a manual transmission.

However, the Sasquatch Package is only available on the Wildtrak Bronco trim. You can add it to the Badlands or Black Diamond trims, which feels limiting.

Also, the manual transmission can only be paired with the 2.3-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine. Currently, it can’t be paired with the more powerful, 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine.

How to build your Bronco

If you haven’t built your 2021 Ford Bronco yet, then what’s the holdup? The build your Bronco tool is up and running, so you can carefully put your dream option together. This tool was taken away for a little while after the system became overwhelmed by the number of preorders coming in.

Now that the Bronco hype has calmed down a little, the system should be able to handle new preorders. However, the Ford Bronco has a massive backlog of orders to work through. Inventory could be thin until 2022. But until then, you can still configure the perfect Bronco model for your needs.
