You Need To Consider The Hyundai Kona EV Instead Of The RAV4 Hybrid

The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid has a slight edge right out of the gate because the 2020 model starts around $28k.
This price is much cheaper than the Hyundai Kona EV’s, which starts around $37k. So, what exactly do you get for nearly 10,000 extra dollars?

So, we can determine that the Hyundai Kona EV has a superior fuel economy, but the higher monthly payment might not be worth it.

The RAV4 Hybrid has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor that pumps out 219 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque. It can tow up to 1,750 lb.
The Kona EV is equipped with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor that provides 201 horsepower and 291 lb-ft of torque. It can tow up to 2,800 lb. So, now we also know that the Hyundai Kona EV is more powerful than the Toyota RAV4.
Acceleration wise, the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid can go from 0 to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds. That’s excitingly fast!
To our surprise, the Hyundai Kona EV is a little slower. It takes up to 7.7 seconds to reach 60 mph.
We are also impressed by the RAV4’s Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive feature. This system automatically monitors road conditions to reduce torque and increase braking pressure as needed.
The Hyundai Kona also offers all-wheel drive, allowing you to have better control during slippery conditions such as snow and ice.

The RAV4 Hybrid comes with an 8” touchscreen that connects to Alexa, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and more.
The Kona Electric also has a smart 7” touchscreen display that can connect to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Both vehicles are incredibly safe options with standards features, including forward collision assist and lane departure assistance.
However, the Hyundai Kona EV also has a distracted driver alert and automatic high beam control.
The Kona EV also has more cargo space. It has up to 45.8 cubic feet of cargo space, while the RAV4 only has up to 37.6 cubic feet of cargo space.

The RAV4 seems better equipped for a little off-roading and to handle slick conditions while the Kona EV has more space and a much better fuel economy. The better vehicle is the one that’s best suited to fit your individual needs.
