Meaning that those who want to buy this compact truck may have to wait. Ford had announced that orders for the Maverick would resume on  August 16th of 2022, but apparently, that is changing. Now, orders for the 2023 Ford Maverick are set to open one day early. And that is something that some buyers are likely to appreciate. 

When can you buy the Ford Maverick?

Because demand exceeded supply, buying a 2022 Maverick is a difficult task, but come August of 2022, orders will once again be opened. For shoppers in search of a small pickup truck, the Maverick seems like the ideal option. It comes with a standard hybrid powertrain and has an affordable price tag, both of which have set Ford’s small truck up for success. 

Currently, the best way to buy a new Ford Maverick is by visiting a dealership. But because this pickup has been so popular, finding one near you may not be all that easy. For that reason, waiting until August 15th to order your 2023 Ford Maverick may be the best option. 

How is Ford handling Maverick orders?

According to Ford Authority, Ford is building Maverick models as they are scheduled. This means that the blue oval is not focused on high-volume markets, but rather on getting this pickup into the hands of those who have already put some money down. Some buyers are still in the dark about their orders though. And it can even be unclear whether you will be getting a 2022 Maverick or a 2023 Maverick.

Ford must be happy with the success of the Maverick truck, but the buying process has become quite the spectacle. Hopefully, as production of the 2023 model ramps up, Ford can figure out some of the supply issues that it has been experiencing.

In terms of rivals, the Maverick competes directly with the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz. The Santa Cruz may have unique styling, but in terms of being a truck, the 2022 Maverick does a better job. Especially with its available off-road package. And, come August 15th, that is something that more of the general public will be able to experience. You may want to act quickly once orders open up though.
