You Should Probably Consider These Luxury SUVs Over the 2020 Lexus GX

There are many reasons to love the Lexus vehicle lineup but the 2020 Lexus GX isn’t one of them. Sure respected outlets like Consumer Reports gave this large SUV an outstanding predicted reliability score, which is respectful. Nevertheless, the Lexus GX loses points because of its cramped cabin and awkward handling. We aren’t saying the GX is terrible, we’re just saying you could do better for a luxury SUV.  Here we’ve gathered a few more attractive options to consider.

2020 Lexus RX L

Starting price: $45,175

If you really have your heart set on getting a large Lexus SUV, then you might want to test out the Lexus RX. Standard RX models can only seat up to five people. However, you can upgrade to the RX L which can seat up to seven, just like the GX model does. The RX  also earned excellent predicted reliability scores from Consumer Reports and J.D. Power.

Unlike the GX, the RX L offers a smooth riding experience and sharp handling. All RX models are equipped with a 295-horsepower, 3.5-liter V6 engine that’s linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission. This V6 accelerates well and offers a satisfying amount of power.

2020 Acura MDX

Starting price: $44,500

The MDX may not be the most spacious option compared to its class rivals, however, this SUV makes up for that with its lively handling and comfort. There’s also only one engine option available on the MDX and that’s a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 290 hp. Critics have especially lauded the MDX because of its responsive nine-speed automatic which comes standard. The MDX also has above-average fuel economy ratings for its class.

So, the MDX could use some updating on the inside to feel more upscale, but it has a nice car cabin overall. Like the GX and RX, the MDX can also seat up to seven people. What makes the MDX more appealing though is its infotainment. Standard infotainment features include a dual-screen display, an eight-speaker audio system, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

2020 Audi Q7

Starting price: $54,800

Audi’s Q7 lives up to the German carmaker’s name. The Q7 offers an incredibly smooth driving experience, agile handling, and exceptional power﹣depending on the engine of course. Base models are fitted with a 248-hp, four-cylinder engine but there are more powerful and refined options available.

You can upgrade to the 2.0-liter V6 engine that produces a 335 hp which also features a mild-hybrid setup. For an even more high-powered experience, you can go for the SQ7 model. The SQ7 model comes with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produces a 500-horsepower.

Along with its dynamic powertrain options, the Q7 also offers a plush cabin packed with modern technology. The Q7’s standard leathery upholstery is gorgeous but you can also upgrade to Valcona leather. A dual-screen infotainment system also comes on this SUV along with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a wifi hotspot. The only real downside to the Q7’s car cabin is its narrow third row.
