You’ll Never Guess Who Owns a Bugatti La Voiture Noire
The newest creation coming out of the Bugatti manufacturing plant is a La Voiture Noire. The name is French for “the black car.” While it shares some Chiron features, it differs in the front fascia design and the headlights. Despite having the same engine, they have tuned the new Bugatti motor with more power output.
This one-of-a-kind vehicle has a rich history, and it comes with an enormous price. One that someone was willing to pay. Motorious shares with its readers the identity of the person who had no problem dropping that amount of cash.
Who bought the Bugatti La Voiture Noire?
With a price tag of approximately $18.9 million, there are not too many people that could afford it. But there’s one person who not only has that much cash to hand over but also can do it without batting an eye. You knew it had to be someone incredibly famous, and it was.
That person is none other than Cristiano Ronaldo, the European soccer star. Does this come as a surprise, though? Not really, since he has an extensive collection of one-of-a-kind vehicles already parked within his estate. The rarest, most sought after supercars seem to be his thing.
Some of them being the Ferrari 599 GTO and the McLaren MP4 12C. It isn’t, however, the only Bugatti he has in his enormous collection. He also owns the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, according to Money Control news.
It appears that Ronaldo has put in his order for the new Bugatti La Voiture Noire to add to his growing storage of rare and hypercars. However, he will have to wait a while, though. It’s not slated to arrive in his driveway until sometime in 2021 or 2022.
What makes this new Bugatti so special?
The La Voiture Noire is inspired by an earlier model created by Jean Bugatti himself. Jean was an iconic car stylist back in the 1930s era, whose designs made the Bugatti name a legend. Bugatti themselves credit his legendary talent for being the inspiration for this newer version.
The original vehicle that inspired the new La Voiture Noire was part of the Atlantic line of cars, specifically the Type 57 SC, which rolled off the line about 80 years ago. Bugatti, the designer, built one of them for his personal use and had it painted a deep black shade.
This new Bugatti vehicle is a spin on that car, giving it a modern sophistication and speed level. They build it for the insane thrill of driving it. However, the Bugattis the French automaker makes for the US soil is pared-down versions, considering our country’s regulations and rules are different.
What are the specs of this car?
This one comes with a quad-turbo 16-cylinder engine that puts out 1,500 hp. It has an extended front end with an iconic front grille and six-exhaust pipes coming out the back.
The bumpers are hardly noticeable as they integrated them into the car’s design. From one end to the other, down the middle of the car is a spine-like detail that is a feature the original Type 57 SC had as well. This car contains hand-crafted components that add to the sophistication of the vehicle. The glossy black finish gives it an even more vivid profile.
Editor’s Note: Cristiano Ronaldo’s publicist announced that he has never owned the La Voiture Noire. Ferdinand Piëch, the Volkswagen executive who championed the 2005 resurrection of Bugatti, commissioned La Voiture Noire. Though Piëch has passed away, his family chose to keep the car.
