2020 strikes again with more Ford Bronco delays. Darn it, things sure would be better if you could forget everything for a while as you cruise around in your 2021 Ford Bronco. But unfortunately, it might be more of a 2022 activity.

The 2021 Ford Bronco faces delays

Alright, we have a bit of a silver lining. Currently, some Ford Bronco models are only being delayed until the summer of 2021 instead of the spring of 2021. That’s only a few months of extra waiting.

However, some models like the manual Sasquatch Ford Bronco will be delayed until 2022. So, if that’s the model you wanted for its hardcore off-roading abilities, we apologize for the longer wait. We know it has to sting a little.

According to Motor Authority, the cause of the delays isn’t due to a single issue. The ongoing Coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19) is causing multiple parts from multiple suppliers to be delayed.

2021 Ford Bronco orders were supposed to open on December 7, but now the ordering process will open in the middle of January instead. This delay includes reservation holders. Bronco reservation holders now have until March 19 to finalize their dealer selection, finalize their order, and to agree to their selling price with the dealer.

When will Ford Broncos be delivered?

For those who place their orders by March 19, Ford will be able to receive a forecast schedule for the second quarter of the year. Customers will receive their delivery window in May 2021. Reservations will be fulfilled in the same order they are received.

This sounds like a first-come, first-serve type of model, but this will also be based on the production of similar Bronco models. Also, due to the high volume of 2-door and 4-door reservations, deliveries will be extended into the 2022 calendar year. Some reservation holders will not receive their order until 2022, but it’s unclear if they will receive 2022 Bronco models.

The Ford Bronco Sasquatch with a manual transmission was introduced later than other configurations. It was scheduled to be introduced for the 2021 model year but is now delayed until 2022.

Currently, Ford will not comment on how many Broncos can be built in a year or how many reservations have been made. But updates will likely be provided in the spring of 2021. Or at least we hope so.

Is the manual Ford Bronco Sasquatch the best option?

That depends on what you want your Ford Bronco to do. Potential buyers petitioned for months to get the off-roading Sasquatch package to become available with the manual transmission. But according to AutoBlog, the Sasquatch is only available with the 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine.

Opting for the more powerful 2.7-liter V6 turbo will require you to settle for an automatic transmission. Also, the Badlands trim provides an electronic sway-bar disconnect. It’s considered to be the best off-roading trim but doesn’t come with the Sasquatch package.

It has 33-inch all-terrain tires instead of 35-inch mud-terrain tires. Plus, it has a heavy-duty front bumper and steel rear bumper. The Sasquatch package adds Bilstein dampers, fender-flares, and locking front and rear axles. So, it’s best to use the configurator to build the best option that suits your personal needs.
