Dreams really do come true! Airbnb and Warner Bros. Consumer Products are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the live-action “Scooby-Doo” film with a special Chevrolet van turned Mystery Machine. The Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine is up for rent this week in California. While this might seem like an unusual vehicle to rent on Airbnb, it will probably sell out immediately.

The Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine will be available on Airbnb this week

Airbnb says that Matthew Lillard, aka Shaggy himself, is hosting fans in the Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine to celebrate. The van has been converted into the best version of the Mystery Machine yet. With room for two fans, Lillard will offer renters a virtual greeting and all sorts of exciting perks.

The van offers mountain views and Pacific ocean views since you can park it anywhere. It isn’t clear if you can take the Mystery Machine on a road trip or if it is to remain stationary at the scenic overlook. Airbnb says sheets, towels, soap and toilet paper are provided. No further information about that is available, though.

The new Mystery Machine is equipped with a TV, and security cameras are nearby. That isn’t elaborated on either. The host includes a CD player with plenty of the finest tunes from 2002, along with a lava lamp, all-you-can-eat snacks, and dinner. Airbnb says that Shaggy & Scooby’s favorite foods, such as hot dogs and eggplant burgers, are on the menu.

Plenty of games, movies, and popcorn will be available for the night. The host set up outdoor seating and a hammock near the van. That probably answers the question of whether or not the van is mobile. Neither Scooby, Shaggy, nor Airbnb are elaborating more on what kind of van this is. It looks like an old Chevy van, but Scooby-Doo’s themed decor has hidden all traces of distinguishing features.

You can rent the Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine starting on June 16, at 1:00 PM ET, for $20 a night through Airbnb. The available nights are June 24-26, but maybe that will open up more after the first few stays. Guests are responsible for getting to Southern California.

Airbnb vowed to donate some of the money raised to Five Acres. “A 134-year-old child and family service agency dedicated to ensuring every child has a forever, loving family solution through advocacy, prevention, and community-based mental/behavioral health services in Southern California,” it says of the organization.

Watch out for California G-G-G-GHOSTS if you do rent it

Matthew Lillard probably won’t be there in person, but renting the Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine still sounds like a fun adventure for fans. If you don’t live near California but want to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Scooby-Doo film, HBO Max has the moving streaming right now.

“I can already taste those chocolate-covered hot dogs,” Shaggy once said to Scooby. Hopefully, Lillard and Scooby-Doo included this option on the Mystery Machine menu.
