The xDrive30i base model has a sprightly turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine delivering 248 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. BMW says the xDrive30i can scoot from 0 to 60 mph in six seconds flat.
The X4 also boasts an M sport-tuned suspension and sport steering to take advantage of its power. This compact luxury SUV delivers impressive athleticism in its base form, and buyers can increase its agility with the Dynamic Handling Package that adds a sport driving mode and equips larger brake rotors.
Meanwhile, the M40i model includes these upgrades and a 382-hp turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine, cutting the 0-to-60 time to 4.4 seconds.
However, the range-topping X4 performance models are the M and M Competition. Both pack a turbocharged six-cylinder, with the M dishing out 473 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque and the Competition trim boosting those figures to 503 hp and 479 lb-ft. Pricing for the 2023 BMW X4 starts at $53,400 for the xDrive30i. Meanwhile, base MSRPs for the X4 performance models are $64,650 for the M40i and $76,400 for the M.
