The 2023 Nissan Armada is Perfect Besides This One Major Flaw
The Armada SUV is one of Nissan’s best options for people who need extra space. The Nissan Armada 2023 is no different, except it retains one major problem from early models. Unfortunately, the 2023 Nissan Armada gets horrendous gas mileage. While most SUVs this large suffer a bit in the fuel economy category, this one has it worse than most.
The Armada SUV’s fuel economy holds it back
According to Car and Driver, the Nissan Armada 2023 gets only 14 miles per gallon in the city and 19 on the highway. Unfortunately, the four-wheel drive option gets one less mile per gallon in both driving situations. For those perhaps looking into a used Nissan Armada, the same fuel economy exists for the 2022 model. Though an all-around fantastic vehicle, the Armada SUV isn’t the best choice for the fuel-conscious buyer.
One of the Nissan Armada’s biggest competitors, the Toyota Sequoia, gets 21 miles per gallon in the city. The Toyota SUV also gets 24 miles per gallon on the highway. This is a combined 22 mpg. Another of its rivals, the Chevrolet Tahoe, gets 16 mpg in the city and 28 on the highway.
The Nissan Armada 2023 has a mighty engine
The Armada SUV has a pretty impressive engine under its hood. It has a mighty 5.6-liter V8 engine with a maximum output of 400 horsepower with the use of premium gasoline. This Nissan SUV has a torque of 413 lb-ft. The Nissan Armada can either be rear-wheel or four-wheel drive. As mentioned before, the four-wheel drive option gets worse fuel economy.
According to some road tests, the new Nissan Armada is relatively quick for a vehicle of its size. It accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour in about 6.7 seconds. Notably, the Armada SUV is one second faster than one of its rivals, the Chevy Tahoe. Though quick for its size, the Armada is still slower than the Toyota Sequoia.
The Armada has an impressive interior
One of the best parts of the 2023 Nissan Armada is its interior. Not only is it classy, but this new Nissan SUV’s cabin is perfectly modern with tons of features. This SUV has three rows and seats up to eight passengers, making it perfect for families. Like most large SUVs, buyers can opt for captain’s chairs for the second row, which drops the seating capacity to seven.
The Nissan Armada also has an impeccable use of interior technology. The 2023 model comes standard with a 12.3-inch touchscreen. In addition, the screen features knobs, which makes navigating it much easier. One of the best parts is that it features standard wireless charging. Some of the upper trims also feature a rear entertainment system.
Overall, the 2023 Nissan Armada is an excellent full-size SUV. However, its fuel economy holds it back from being truly great. While forgivable, it’s far behind many of its rivals in this all-important category.
