The 2024 Cadillac Escalade has 2 Less Expensive Competitors
The 2024 Cadillac Escalade is one of the best large SUVs in the luxury segment. It’s packed with features and has a ton of interior space. However, this all comes at a real cost, as the Cadillac Escalade is one of the most expensive vehicles in its class. Luckily, there are several cheaper but less luxurious options options. One is the Toyota Sequoia and the other is the Kia Telluride.
Here are two less expensive rivals to the 2024 Cadillac Escalade, which starts at $81,895.
The Toyota Sequoia is similar to the 2024 Cadillac Escalade
The 2024 Cadillac Escalade may be one of the best large SUVs, but so is the new Toyota Sequoia. Of course, the Toyota SUV won’t have the same top-of-the-line features, but it’s comparable in size. Both vehicles seat up to eight people, which means opting for the much less expensive 2024 Toyota Sequoia won’t leave anyone out on trips.
The 2024 Toyota Sequoia also has a fairly impressive use of interior technology. It has a 14-inch touchscreen display, which some may say is more practical than the combined 38 inches of screens in the 2024 Cadillac Escalade. Most drivers will be more than happy with the smaller infotainment system.
Regarding power, the base trim of the Escalade is on par with the 2024 Toyota Sequoia. According to Edmunds, the Toyota SUV has a hybrid 3.5-liter V6 engine with a maximum output of 437 horsepower and a torque of 538 lb-ft. The base 2024 Cadillac Escalade has a 6.2-liter V8 engine that makes 420 horsepower and has a torque of 460 lb-ft.
The Sequoia is also a little faster than the base 2024 Cadillac Escalade. It accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per in only 5.6 seconds, while it takes the Cadillac about 6.1 seconds. The 2024 Toyota Sequoia starts at $61,275.
The 2024 Kia Telluride is among the best large SUVs
The 2024 Kia Telluride is another of the best large SUVs despite technically being a midsize option. Because of this, buyers should consider it over the 2024 Cadillac Escalade. Like the Toyota Sequoia, it’s less luxurious. However, it offers real value for people who need an SUV that seats up to eight people. Buyers should be aware that this option isn’t as spacious as either the Escalade or the Sequoia.
Regarding interior technology, the 2024 Kia Telluride has a 12.3-inch touchscreen that works with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Buyers can also add a 10-speaker sound system. One feature buyers will like is Driver Talk, which uses the SUV’s speakers to amplify voices coming from the front so rear passengers can hear them.
The Kia Telluride is also less powerful. It has a 3.8-liter V6 that makes 291 horsepower and has a torque of 262 lb-ft. The 2024 Kia Telluride starts at $35,990.
