This Lady’s 2024 Chevy Traverse Needed a New Transmission After Only 2,000 Miles
The 2024 Chevrolet Traverse is among the top SUVs for many reasons. However, it’s not without issues, as some buyers have expressed regret. Recently, one woman took to social media to share her experience of having transmission problems early on in her lease. Sadly, it seems that many of the best new cars on the market are far from perfect. Auto mechanics seem to agree.
Some 2024 Chevy Traverse models have transmission problems
According to Daily Dot, a TikTok user named Boy Mom Motherhood Sahm took to the platform to detail her experience with a 2024 Chevrolet Traverse. Despite it being one of the top SUVs in terms of popularity, she had some concerning details. She started by saying she noticed puddles under the SUV and took measures to see if they were coming from her Traverse. She learned that oil was leaking out of the pan seal.
After doing more research, she learned of the service update bulletin that impacted specific models of the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse. With the service update bulletin, owners could have their transmission problems fixed by replacing the unit. However, it then came to light that her transmission had been left off the list, which means this may be the case for other owners with what some call one of the best new cars.
Luckily, the dealership is still replacing the transmission in her 2024 Chevrolet Traverse with only 2,000 miles on the odometer. Currently, she’s using a loaner car and has doubts about buying or leasing brand-new vehicles. She says, “I know, I know—should not have gotten a brand new vehicle. New model, just released—should not have done. That’s a poor choice; I know.”
It’s also important to note that the service bulletin includes the Chevy Trailblazer and the Blazer. Notably, the 2024 Chevy Trax has also had issues.
