The Dodge Charger EV is priced more like a luxury car than it should be
There has been much talk regarding the Dodge Charger EV, which is set to arrive near the end of 2024. Now, the troubled automaker has released pricing for the high-performance versions of the two-door all-electric car. While no one expected these models to be cheap, many feel they are priced much more like the best luxury cars on the market than they should be.
The high-performance Dodge Charger EV is anything but cheap
There has been some excitement for the Dodge Charger EV. Now, the automaker has now unveiled what interested buyers can expect to pay for two of the high-performance versions of the Dodge Charger Daytona. According to Stellantis, the Daytona R/T, which will come with the standard Direct Connection Stage 1 Upgrade, will start at $59,595. This price excludes the destination fee.
Regarding performance, this version of the 2024 Dodge Charger EV will make 496 horsepower and have a torque of 404 lb-ft.
The automaker also announced pricing for the Inaugural-year Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack. It includes the Track Package and the factory-installed Direct Connection Stage 2 Upgrade. These upgrades motivate the Charger EV to make 670 horsepower with a torque of 627 lb-ft. Regarding speed, it should accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in only 3.3 seconds. This version of the 2024 Dodge Charger will start at $73,190.
Of course, Dodge has more pricing to announce for the upcoming Charger EV. Though no one expected these high-performance versions of the Charger to be cheap, this pricing could cause more problems for the automaker. Like most Stellantis brands, Dodge is struggling to sell units, and the last thing it needs is another unattainable vehicle. These models cost about the same as the best luxury cars.
