Recent Sales Show the Honda Prologue Isn’t Dead in the Water
Buyers have several choices for brand-new all-electric SUVs. However, for a time, many seemed uninterested in the 2024 Honda Prologue. Now, the Honda SUV has a chance of becoming a hit as sales surged during the month of July. It’s still not as popular as its rivals, but the tides are turning in the right direction.
The 2024 Honda Prologue could become one of the best all-electric SUVs
The 2024 Honda Prologue is still relatively new on the market. However, it got off to a slow start regarding sales. Now, according to PCMag, this is changing. The Honda Prologue sold about 3,458 units in July. This is four times more than it did in June when about 830 people drove home with one. Of course, Honda seems happy with the new figures as more people become aware of the new all-electric SUV.
Though the increase in sales is exciting, it doesn’t match the figure of more established rivals. Compared to the Honda Prologue, the Ford Mustang Mach-E averages more than 4,000 monthly units. Additionally, the ultra-popular Tesla Model Y has already sold about 114,000 units in 2024 and is the most popular of the all-electric SUVs in the segment.
Regarding the 2024 Honda Prologue, it has single and dual motor configurations and offers almost 300 miles on a charge. The most powerful version of the SUV makes 288 horsepower and has a torque of 333 lb-ft. It uses an 85 kWh battery, and it’s built using GM‘s Ultium platform. However, future all-electric Honda SUVs will use an in-house battery. The Honda Prologue starts at $47,400.
