The 2025 Chevy Malibu could be one of the best midsize sedans for buyers looking for a spacious option. It doesn’t offer significant upgrades from the 2024 Chevy Malibu, but it does bring a new color option. Though not as popular as it used to be, drivers still like the Malibu because it serves as a decently affordable sedan with many of the most desired features.

The 2025 Chevy Malibu is among the best midsize sedans

The 2025 Chevy Malibu offers much of the same as the 2024 model. However, it does have at least one change up its sleeve. According to GM Authority, the 2025 Malibu will offer a new exterior shade for all trim levels of the sedan. The new color, Night Shade Metallic, is now one of seven options buyers can choose.

Like the 2024 Chevy Malibu, the new model uses one powertrain across its trims. The unit in question is a turbocharged 1.5-liter that makes 160 horsepower with a torque of 184 lb-ft. Like many of the best midsize sedans, it’s front-wheel drive and uses a CVT. Regarding speed, it should take the car about 8.4 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour.

Of course, the 2025 Chevy Malibu will be the last edition of the long-running sedan as GM announced it will end production this year. This comes as sales have been okay but far from the glory days of the vehicle. So far, the Chevy Malibu has sold more than 69,000 units in 2024. Last year, it moved around 130,341 units, which was a decrease from the year prior. Regarding pricing, the 2025 model will start at $26,995.
