The 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe has much for the market to appreciate. However, the 2023 Ford Expedition comes out on top in three main ways. Not only is the 2023 Expedition more powerful at its base level, but many find its interior to be more advanced than that of the new Tahoe. Both vehicles are excellent choices, but the Ford SUV happens to be a more exciting option, especially for those who want a slightly faster SUV.
Performance is better in some ways for the Ford Expedition 2023
The 2023 Expedition steals the show regarding performance. The full-size Ford SUV comes standard with a 3.5-liter V6 engine with a maximum output of 380 horsepower, according to Car and Driver. It can be rear or all-wheel drive and sends the power via a ten-speed automatic transmission. Some more powerful versions of the Ford Expedition have a maximum output of 400 horsepower.
The real star of the show is the Ford Expedition Timberline. The Timberline edition is able to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 5.1 seconds. Of course, the lower trims of the Ford SUV take a bit longer to reach 60 miles per hour, but they’re still fast for a vehicle this size.
The 2023 Chevy Tahoe comes with a 5.3-liter V8 that makes 355 horses. Like the Expedition, the Tahoe has a 10-speed automatic transmission. There is also a 6.2-liter option. The comparable trim of the new Tahoe is a tad bit slower than the new Ford Expedition Timberline. This may not be the most significant difference in the world, but it could benefit some buyers.
