There are many people looking for the best SUVs to buy. Naturally, many buyers want compact models as they may not need the space a midsize or larger vehicle provides. Luckily, there are many auto mechanics out there who can provide insight into which ones to steer clear of. In fact, one well-known mechanic recently went online to rank some of the top SUVs in the small category.

Unfortunately, some of the top SUVs in popularity are among the worst. Recently, Royalty Auto Service (@royaltyautoservice) took to TikTok to rank 14 options. Notably, he used the recent Edmunds ranking as a basis and said whether or not he would recommend them. For context, the video goes from the least recommended to the most, as Edmunds listed them.
The GMC Terrain got a “No”
The Edmunds ranking puts the GMC Terrain in last place for the best small SUVs to buy. Like many auto mechanics, this one does not recommend the Terrain. He simply says, “No.”
The Buick Envison is questionable
Notably, as soon as he heard Buick, the mechanic said, “No.” In other words, he doesn’t recommend any Buick models for long-term use.
The Volkswagen Tiguan isn’t recommended
He says, “Big maybe on that one. That’s leaning way towards no, though.”
