Watch this mechanic reveal 5 cars known for serious issues before 60,000 miles
Auto mechanics are a part of the fabric of the car community. Naturally, drivers rely on good technicians to fix car issues, but these skilled professionals also have insight into what vehicles are better than others. Recently, one car expert and mechanic took to social media to share five cars he feels have significant issues before they reach 60,000 miles on the odometer. Many of them have several car recalls and class action suits.
According to Daily Dot, Garner Ted (@iamgarnerted) recently took to TikTok to “share five new cars that won’t even last 60,000 miles.” Of course, each automaker on his list is responsible for some of the best new cars, which means this social media creator is only sharing his professional opinion. However, many auto mechanics may agree with him.
Many auto mechanics will agree about Kia and Hyundai
Garner’s worst car wasn’t a single model or automaker. Instead, he, like many auto mechanics, says drivers should stay away from Hyundai and Kia vehicles equipped with the 2.0-liter inline-four engine. He cites numerous recalls and class action suits for why buyers should avoid these vehicles.
Chrysler Pacifica PHEV
Minivans are nowhere near as popular as they once were, thanks to the rise in SUVs. However, some people still buy them, and this TikTok user says they should skip the plug-in hybrid version of the Chrysler Pacifica. He says it has a high number of car recalls and that there are severe issues with its hybrid system.
Some auto mechanics agree about the Volkswagen Taos
Auto mechanics are often split on Volkswagen models. Some praise them, but others think they’re problematic. This social media user says to stay away from the Volkswagen Taos because of its 1.5-liter turbocharged engine issues. He says these vehicles are known for premature engine failure.
Ford Bronco Sport
In some regards, the rebooted Ford Bronco is one of the best new cars. However, the Sport version of the trim isn’t perfect. This car expert says the biggest issue with the small SUV is its EcoBoost engine. Additionally, they have been known for problems with the cooling system and engine fires. This one also has car recalls.
Nissan Rogue
The Nissan Rogue has grown in popularity in the last few years. However, Garner says that many auto mechanics know them to have severe issues before reaching 60,000 miles. He says the problem is the complex design of its turbocharged three-cylinder engine. Of course, many people have problems with the continuously variable transmissions in Nissan vehicles.
