The Ford Mustang is one of the best muscle cars of all time. It’s still a top seller and happens to remain the number one vehicle in its segment. Of course, this led to the Ford Mustang Mach-E, which is among the best all-electric SUVs. Now it seems the Blue Oval has other plans for its long-running nameplate. This reportedly includes trying to turn it into one of the new sedans.
One of the best muscle cars might become a sedan
Nowadays, car companies are struggling to move vehicles. Just recently, several automakers announced massive financial losses. Because of this, they are finding more ways to generate interest in new cars, especially sedans. Enter Ford, as it tries to take advantage of the fact that the Mustang is one of the best muscle cars and is still popular today.
According to Motor1, Ford executives recently unveiled mockups and renderings for what the automaker hopes to do with one of the best muscle cars. This happened at a meeting with its national network of dealers. CEO Jim Farley and executive chairman Bill Ford are said to have been there.
However, these plans didn’t involve making one of the best muscle cars even faster than it is. Instead, the plans included a four-door sedan version of the Ford Mustang. That’s not all. There were also renderings of an off-road version of the beloved car. Unlike the Ford Mustang Mach-E, which has become one of the best all-electric SUVs, these new models would be gas-powered.
The report says that the sedan could be called the Mach 4, but the off-road version of the Ford Mustang is unknown. Regarding the Ford Mustang Mach-E, it has grown in popularity since it launched. There are better-selling options in its segment, but it is gaining ground. This is despite the automaker’s backlash for taking one of the best muscle cars and turning it into an SUV.
