Jeep sales are down across the board with one notable exception
Many people looking for the best SUVs go with Jeep. This is because Jeep has a diverse lineup of vehicles that perfectly combine rugged off-road readiness and modern technology. The problem is that, as with many Stellantis cars, Jeep sales have been in decline for a while. Some blame high prices, and others blame the questionable reputations of some of Jeep’s most popular vehicles.
Not enough people looking for the best SUVs to buy aren’t picking Jeep
There is no doubt that Jeep still makes some of the best SUVs to buy. Sadly, that level of automotive prowess isn’t translating to sales for Jeep vehicles. According to CarScoops, Jeep is down by about six percent for the third quarter. Notably, its sales figures are down eight percent year-to-date. Naturally, this means that several of the automaker’s cars sold significantly less than they did in 2023.
Regarding the losses, Jeep’s Gladiator truck was down 35 percent for quarter three. Likewise, the Jeep Wrangler, which some call one of the best SUVs to buy, sold about 14 percent less. The Jeep Grand Wagoneer was down by eight percent, and the Grand Cherokee fell by six percent.
However, Jeep does have some wins. Notably, the Jeep Compass is experiencing a sales increase, which is a welcomed surprise for the struggling automaker. This is clearly one of the best SUVs to buy right now, as sales surged by 71 percent for the third quarter. So far, 84,474 people have driven home in a new Jeep Compass. The Jeep Wagoneer is also experiencing a slight rise as sales increased by three percent. It’s also up 79 percent year-to-date.
Still, these gains weren’t enough to stop Jeep from being down overall. However, things aren’t as bad for Jeep vehicles as for other Stellantis cars. Ram experienced a 19 percent decline. Dodge was down by 43 percent, and Chrysler fell by 47 percent.
