BMW makes some of the best luxury cars on the market. However, even the most notable of vehicles can sometimes have issues. Now, there’s a new BMW recall over concerns that some of the automaker’s vehicles could end up in flames. This comes after the automaker recently recalled several of its most popular models because of overheating concerns. As with all car recalls, auto mechanics at authorized BMW dealers will fix the issue for free.

The new BMW recall impacts a few of the best luxury cars

Like all automakers, BMW is no stranger to recalling vehicles over various issues. According to ABC News, the maker of some of the best luxury cars is agreeing to fix specific models over problems with the water pump’s electrical connector. In a nutshell, the vehicles included in the BMW recall have faulty seals for the electrical plug that could cause fluids to get into places they shouldn’t be.

This new BMW recall is essential because this water pump issue could cause short-circuiting. In some cases, this could even lead to fires, which is a massive safety concern for drivers and other people on the road. However, this is said to be rare. Auto mechanics at BMW dealerships will inspect the water pumps and connectors on the impacted vehicles and replace them if needed. They will also install a device to help block fluids from causing future issues with the vehicles.

The NHTSA wasn’t specific about what vehicles were included in the BMW recall. However, the organization did say that some models of the X1, X3, X5, and the 5-series sedan are included. There have been 18 customer complaints against BMW, but there have been no known reports of fires so far. Car owners can expect their recall notice in the mail sometime in October.
