GM is recalling 449,671 vehicles over a brake fluid warning issue
General Motors is one of the leaders in the automotive world. Its various brands are responsible for some of the best new cars as well as many celebrated models of the past. However, GM has a new car recall on its hands over an issue that impacts hundreds of thousands of its most popular trucks and SUVs. Here’s what’s going on.
General Motors has a new car recall on its hands
Being faced with a car recall is never fun for automakers, and it can also be a bit of a pain for drivers. According to Reuters, General Motors has issued a new car recall. It impacts about 449,671 vehicles. The issue is that many of the automaker’s best new cars are outfitted with faulty low brake fluid warning systems. They are inoperative in several cases. Because of this, people could be driving around with insufficient brake fluid, causing other issues.
So, what vehicles are included in this most recent GM car recall? It consists of the following :
- 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
- 2023 GMC Sierra 1500
- 2023-2024 Chevrolet Tahoe
- 2023-2024 Chevrolet Suburban
- 2023-2024 GMC Yukon
- 2023-2024 Cadillac Escalade
- 2023-2024 Cadillac Escalade ESV
As with a typical car recall, General Motors will fix the issue for car owners at no cost. Luckily, this fix only needs an over-the-air update to fix the electronic brake control module that causes the low fluid warning light to fail. Owners of the impacted vehicles can expect an official notification from the automaker. While this recall impacts several cars, it is much less complicated than what other automakers have had to deal with.
