Jaguar makes some of the best luxury cars on the market. However, there is a new car recall impacting the automaker. Luckily, this one doesn’t include several models like many recent vehicle recalls. However, it is extensive enough to cause significant issues, so people who own the Jaguar I-Pace should take heed.
Jaguar has a new car recall on its hands
According to Yahoo, there is a new car recall impacting Jaguar. It concerns 2,760 2019 Jaguar I-Pace all-electric SUVs, and owners have been told to park their vehicles outside and away from flammable items and structures. The issue is that there is a defect with the vehicle’s battery that could cause a fire. So far, there are three known fires due to the defect. These came after software updates for the vehicle.
As of right now, there is no permanent fix associated with the car recall. However, in the meantime, dealers can limit charging so that the batteries don’t exceed 80 percent. Notably, Jaguar has issued recalls for this issue in the past. The batteries used in the 2019 Jaguar I-Pace all-electric SUVs come from LG Energy Solution. Currently, the NHTSA is investigating the company due to various other safety concerns.
Readers should note that several other automakers have issued car recalls over batteries from the company. They include Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, Stellantis, GM, and Volkswagen. This investigation was first launched in 2022. Jaguar is working on a long-term solution to the battery issue that impacts the all-electric SUV.
