Ford has been making some of the best new cars on the market for as long as most people can remember. However, like all automakers, this doesn’t mean Ford vehicles are perfect. Now, a U.S. regulator has started an investigation into almost 400,000 Ford SUVs over concerns of a massive braking issue. Of course, this could lead to a car recall.

Ford could have a massive car recall on its hands

Ford is no stranger to a car recall. After all, every mainstream automaker has at least a few each year. According to Reuters, a U.S. regulator has launched a probe to investigate a reported issue with some models of the Ford Edge SUV. In particular, there could be an issue with the rear brake hose. Sadly, this rear brake hose problem could cause braking loss in the impacted SUVs.

So, which Ford Edge SUVs may become the subject of a car recall? Some Ford Edge models made between 2015 and 2017 are the culprits. This worsens because the owners who reported the issue say the brakes fail without warning. Naturally, this means it takes drivers longer to stop, which could cause a car wreck for unsuspecting people behind the wheel.

While there is no current car recall, Ford has issued them in the past for this reason. In fact, that recall included 480,000 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX models. Currently, Ford is working with the NHTSA as it investigates the issue and determines any next steps. Still, people with the Ford Edge from 2015 to 2017 should be aware of this issue to prevent car accidents.
