2024 has been one of the worst years on record for Stellantis. Sadly, the bad news keeps coming. There’s a new car recall for Ram, one of the 15 brands under the Stellantis umbrella. This time, the issue concerns brakes, and it impacts more than a million of the company’s most popular vehicles. Owners will be able to take their vehicles to the auto mechanics at Ram dealerships for repairs. Additionally, there’s a separate issue impacting some Stellantis cars.

Stellantis is no stranger to a car recall

According to Reuters, Stellantis is issuing a new car recall over a software malfunction with the anti-lock brake system in some of its cars. Specifically, this impacts 1,227,808 vehicles. It includes Ram 1500 trucks from 2019 and 2021-2024. Naturally, this anti-lock brake issue can cause car wrecks.

A representative from the NHTSA said, “Due to a software malfunction, the anti-lock brake system (ABS) control module may disable the electronic stability control system.”

The fix for the impacted Ram 1500 trucks is free, as with all car recalls. Owners will be able to take their vehicles to the auto mechanics at dealerships. They will update the control module for the anti-lock brake system.

Aside from the car recall over the anti-lock brake issue, Stellantis is also agreeing to fix 32,864 units of the Jeep Wrangler made between 2018 and 2024 and the Gladiator from 2020 through 2024. This recall concerns short-circuiting instrument panel clusters. As with the brake recall, owners will be able to take their vehicles to the dealership for repairs. An official letter with instructions should arrive in the mail.
