No automaker is a stranger to car recalls. This is a natural part of manufacturing vehicles, as things can always go wrong. Now, Tesla has a new car recall on its hands, impacting the Model X, one of the best all-electric SUVs on the market. Luckily, this recall isn’t as vast as many other automakers have faced in recent months.

Tesla has a new car recall on its hands

No driver wants to deal with a car recall. However, they are fairly commonplace and help keep drivers and passengers safe. According to Reuters, Tesla is now recalling some 9,136 Model X vehicles over an issue with the roof. Not only is this one of the best all-electric SUVs, but it’s also among the most popular. Apparently, a trim on the roof could separate and cause it to crash in.

The U.S. Safety Regulator said, “The front and center roof cosmetic trim pieces may be adhered to the vehicle without primer. As a result, one or both pieces of trim may separate from the vehicle.”

Of course, this is a massive safety issue for anyone inside one of the Model X vehicles included in the car recall. However, it also poses a risk for everyone on the road. Regarding the fix, Tesla will check to see if the proper adhesion was used and repair as needed. Of course, this fix will be done by auto mechanics at Tesla dealers without cost to the owner.

As mentioned, Tesla is no stranger to a car recall. However, these usually only involve over-the-air updates from the automaker. According to reports, Tesla has recalled about 2.6 million vehicles for various safety issues this year.
