All of the best automakers are sometimes impacted by car recalls. Now, Toyota has a new one due to issues with the power brake assistance feature. It includes some models of the Corolla Cross SUV. As with most car recalls owners of impacted vehicles can take them to Toyota auto mechanics.

Here’s what’s happening with the Toyota Corolla Cross and its power brake assistance issue.

Toyota is no stranger to car recalls

According to Yahoo Finance, Toyota is recalling the Corolla Cross Hybrid models from 2023 to 2024. Unlike some of the automaker’s other recent car recalls, this one concerns the loss of power brake assist in the popular SUV. Naturally, any brake issue is dangerous, as it means it takes drivers more time to stop their vehicles.

Like many car recalls these days, this one stems from software issues. Specifically, there is a problem with the electronic control unit that could lead to a loss of brake assistance while going around corners. There are other Toyota vehicles with the same system. However, the automaker is currently unsure if the power braking assistance issue impacts those.

Regarding the fix, owners of impacted Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid models can take them to the auto mechanics for a software update. Naturally, Toyota mechanics will perform the update for free. Of course, this is an issue that owners will want to address as soon as possible. Not doing so could cause car wrecks due to not being able to stop in time.
