A Car Dealer Recently Crashed an Owner’s $100K Chevy Camaro
Car wrecks are always unfortunate and typically cause a lot of destruction. However, these accidents are worse when the wrong person is behind the wheel. This happened in Connecticut recently when a man took his ultra-rare 2018 Chevy Camaro into a dealership for repairs. Instead of fixing the issue, a dealership employee crashed the nearly $100k car. This is one of the top sports cars, so the dealership will probably have to pay hefty damages.
Car wrecks are sometimes unavoidable… but this one shouldn’t have happened
According to Jalopnik, Kenny Habul’s 2018 Chevy Camaro ZL1E Hendrick Edition wouldn’t start, so he brought it to H&L Chevrolet in Darien, Connecticut. Upon taking in the car, Kenny instructed the dealership that no one was to drive the special edition Camaro on the road. Sadly, one employee didn’t take heed and decided to take the car for a high-speed spin after they fixed the clutch switch.
According to the report, the employee took the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 Camaro down the interstate and got up to about 90 miles per hour. As with many car wrecks, the service advisor eventually lost control of the car and crashed into a guardrail. He had another employee of the dealership with him, but it seems neither of the two sustained severe injuries.
All car wrecks are unfortunate. However, this one is especially heinous because the man’s 2018 Chevy Camaro is one of the top sports cars. It was appraised at about $97,000. Making matters worse, it only had about 989 miles on the odometer. Like with many car wrecks, this ended up being a total loss.
It’s only fitting that the man who lost his 2018 Chevy Camaro would file a lawsuit. He is suing for negligence and recklessness, and he is seeking no specified amount. The driver, who we won’t name here, got a traffic citation for failure to maintain his lane. It would surprise no one if the dealership cut ties with both employees.
