Dale Earnhardt Jr. is perhaps well-versed more than most in road trips. The 26-time NASCAR Cup Series winner and broadcaster has spent decades traversing the U.S. Now, Earnhardt Jr. and family will do so in a brand-new, upscale fifth-wheel RV. Earnhardt Jr. recently announced his purchase of a Keystone Cougar 364BHL.

The 39-foot, fifth-wheel trailer features upscale amenities like shaker-style hardwood cabinets, crown molding, a 5,500-BTI electric fireplace and night shades throughout. The kitchen sports a stainless steel undermount kitchen sound, a “chef’s faucet” and booth dinette.

Other features include an LED HDTV, an exterior TV hookup, fridge, microwave, 21-inch cooking range, LED interior and exterior lighting and a shower with a skylight.

The Cougar 364BHL can sleep up to 10, more than is needed for Earnhardt Jr., his wife Amy, and daughters Isla and Nicole.

Earnhardt Jr.’s model is the Midnight Edition featuring Phantom Grey exterior point. He reportedly also selected some options, including an extra lighting package and a solar panel package.

NASCAR and Camping World RV, where Earnhardt Jr. purchased his new RV, have a longstanding relationship. The company sponsored NASCAR’s Truck Series for more than a decade. However, Earnhardt Jr.’s purchase of a Keystone brand RV is reportedly not a public relations move.

The NASCAR star’s new camper won’t have many business miles put on it this year. NBC Sports confirmed Earnhardt Jr. and the company parted ways.  As such, he will not be in the booth once national NASCAR coverage switches to NBC at the midpoint of the season.

However, Earnhardt Jr. will likely be back in the booth come 2025 on Amazon Prime, according to reports.

NASCAR announced earlier this year five of the final races of the regular season will only be available on the subscription service beginning next year. Earnhardt Jr. is reportedly joining the streaming service’s booth next year, though that has not been confirmed as of this writing.

Earnhardt Jr. did dispel rumors circulating on Reddit that he and NBC were at odds.

“This is all untrue,” Earnhardt Jr. said on social media. “NBC is not considering a remote booth and I was never scolded for anything. NBC was amazing and everyone there taught me a ton. I promise that’s the truth.”
