Buyers have several choices when they go to dealerships for new vehicles. Now, all-electric cars have become more popular as the public infrastructure for chargers continues to expand. Recently, ChargePoint, the most extensive electric charger network, announced that it secured a massive infusion of cash to add stations in California. This will make the experience of driving EVs in the state much more accessible.

ChargePoint is expanding its electric charger infrastructure

Like many companies, ChargePoint has recently laid off some of its staff. This is despite it having the biggest electric charger network. Now, according to Yahoo, the company has announced that it has secured $19 million to add more chargers for all-electric cars. This infusion of cash comes with the help of the company’s partners.

With the funding, the electric charger network in California will have 248 new DC fast charging. They will go to 45 different charging stations along the highways in the state. Notably, they will be placed in areas that are typically the most congested. These areas have people waiting long periods to charge their all-electric cars. The company says that adding chargers is necessary to connect the biggest cities in the state.

The president and CEO of ChargePoint had this to say, “With the latest awards from California, ChargePoint, and its partners continue to open NEVI-funded fast charging locations across the United States, ensuring all EV drivers can access charging when and where they need it via the ChargePoint mobile app.”

Recently, ChargePoint also announced that it will add a new AI tool to both diagnose and fix issues with its chargers. This will decrease charger downtime, which has been a massive issue for people with all-electric cars.
