Eminem’s Car Collection Is Worthy of a “Rap God”
Music fans often consider Eminem one of the greatest rappers of all time. However, the controversial musician is also quite the lover of fine cars. His collection includes some of the best and most exotic sports cars, and he has a massive passion for Porsche and Ferrari models. Still, the cars Eminem has with the most interesting associations bring quite a bit to the table in the automotive world and are truly worthy of a rap God. They include the 2005 Ford GT and the 2011 Audi R8.
Eminem lost a contract with Ford but owns a 2005 GT worthy of a rap God
Eminem is a self-proclaimed rap God, and while achieving that status, he’s ruffled some feathers along the way. One notable example lies with Ford, as in 2005, Eminem reached out to the automaker, which is based in his home city of Detroit, to feature an unreleased car in a music video. Seeing it as a wise marketing move, the Blue Oval agreed to let Em use a Ford Fusion.
However, Ford withdrew from the partnership as it found some of Eminem’s lyrics to go against the band’s image.
Still, this didn’t sour Eminem’s opinion on the automaker because as he owns a 2005 Ford GT. This model happens to be a special edition as it celebrates 100 years of the automaker. Regarding specs, it uses a 5.4-liter V8 engine that makes 550 horsepower and has a torque of 500 lb-ft. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in only 3.3 seconds.
Eminem once sued Audi but owns a 2011 Audi R8 Spyder
Being widely considered a rap God, it’s common for companies to use Eminem songs in commercials. However, they typically get permission to do so beforehand. This isn’t the case with Audi when the automaker used music that sounded eerily similar to his 2002 hit song Lose Yourself. In the end, Audi admitted to wrongdoing and settled out of court with the Houdini rapper.
However, as with the 2005 Ford GT, Eminem seems to respect the brand’s automotive ingenuity. His car collection includes a 2011 Audi R8 Spyder. It may not be as fast as some of the Ferrari and Porsche models in his car collection, but it puts up more than repeatable numbers.
According to Edmunds, the 2011 Audi R8 Spyder uses a 5.2-liter V10 engine that makes 525 horsepower and has a torque of 391 lb-ft. It only needs a reported 3.6 seconds to get from 0 to 60 miles per hour. Eminem might be a self-proclaimed rap God, but this is enough to knock even his socks off.
Of course, this only scratches the surface of the cars Eminem has. His collection includes many of the best sports cars. Not only does he have several Ferrari and Porsche models, but his collection also includes a McLaren MP4-12C, a 2014 Lamborghini Aventador, and a 2006 Aston Martin V8 Vantage.
