Getting an oil change is one of the most important things for your car’s engine. However, many don’t go to traditional auto mechanics for the service. Instead, some drivers decide to go to quick oil change places. However, one mechanic is warning against going this route as he highlights what could go wrong with even the best new cars.

Getting an oil change at the wrong place can damage your engine

According to Daily Dot, John Brian (@johnbrian210) recently took to TikTok to share what happened to a Toyota after the owner took it to a quick oil change place twice. Naturally, they went to the establishment for the necessary oil change to keep the engine running smoothly. They also had a coolant flush done both times. The problem is that the car began overheating and leaking soon after.

After taking the Toyota to John’s shop, they informed him that the issue had been going on for a while. Luckily, he was able to quickly determine what went wrong after they went to get an oil change for their engine. He says the problem is that someone at the quick oil change shop put on a bad radiator cap.

It’s a good thing the Toyota owner took their car in when they did. Having a bad radiator cap on your vehicle can cause serious engine problems with even the best new cars. Of course, even traditional auto mechanics can make mistakes, but owners have more of a risk going to quick oil change locations. The employees are skilled and adequately trained, but they are often rushed to provide fast service.
