This American Hypercar Just Set a Record at Goodwood
As an automaker, having one of the fastest production cars is quite an honor. However, there’s nothing like being number one at the iconic Goodwood festival for the hill climb. Up until recently, the Rimac Nevera partly justified its high price by holding on to this distinction. However, this has changed as one of the other best hypercars is now the fastest. Lovers of American cars will be happy to know that the new fastest production car was born right here in the States. The car in question is the Czinger 21C.
It’s an honor to have one of the fastest production cars, but there’s a new number one
The Goodwood Festival of Speed happened recently, and it has car fans all over the world talking. Of course, much of the talk is over the fastest production cars at the event. Previously, the Rimac Nevera held the record for the fastest production car to conquer the famous Goodwood hill climb. The hill comes out to 1.16 miles, and the Nevera did it in only 49.32 seconds.
However, there’s a new boss in town when it comes to the Goodwood hill climb. According to Motor1, the Czinger 21C was able to go up the hill in only 48.83 seconds. Czinger is based in Los Angeles, meaning America now has the title that Croatia held last year. Chris Ward drove the Czinger 21C.
Though the Czinger 21C is one of the fastest production cars, it’s not the fastest. That honor belongs to the McMurtry Speirling. Regarding the 21C, the version used at the Goodwood Festival of Speed has a top speed of 219 miles per hour, and there will only be 80 units produced. However, there are even faster variants of this American-made beauty. The most powerful has a maximum output of 1,350 horsepower.
Regarding price, the Rimac Nevera is a little more expensive than the Czinger 21C. The 21C starts at around $2 Million.
