Ford makes some of the best new cars. In fact, the blue oval is a significant competitor in practically all classes of vehicles. However, a recent study says that six of the ten most complained about car models since 2015 come from Ford. Of course, no automaker is perfect and car recalls are expected from time to time, but many will find it surprising that it comes out on top of this unfortunate list. 

This study says Ford car models are the most complained about

Naturally, some of the most iconic car models of all time come from Ford. Still, this doesn’t mean every nameplate from the automaker is a homerun. According to Live Fox Now, a new study from Tires Easy has found that the blue oval leads the pack regarding complaints. In fact, the blue oval has more than 110,000 complaints based on data from the NHTSA. This figure is responsible for 17.6 percent of complaints to the organization. 

So, regarding Ford car models, which one has the most complaints? According to the study, that honor goes to the now-discontinued Ford Fusion, which has 16,335 complaints. The vehicle with the second most complaints is the Ford F-150, which has 15,378 registered complaints. Third on the list is the Escape, with 14,940. The Ford Explorer, Focus, and Edge all also made the top ten list. 

Ford car models aren’t the only ones with a ton of issues on the NHTSA website:

  • 1. Ford Fusion: 16,335 complaints
  • 2. Ford F-150: 15,378 complaints
  • 3. Ford Escape: 14,940 complaints
  • 4. Jeep Grand Cherokee: 12,248 complaints
  • 5. Ford Explorer: 11,037 complaints
  • 6. Ford Focus: 11,013 complaints
  • 7. Hyundai Sonata: 10,170 complaints
  • 8. Honda CR-V: 10,016 complaints
  • 9. Ford Edge: 9,871 complaints
  • 10. Chevrolet Malibu: 9,273 complaints

Of course, these issues could be significant defects or minor malfunctions. Additionally, some vehicles on this list have car recalls that addressed many of their problems. Still, it should also be acknowledged that one reason Ford has so many complaints is that it makes so many vehicles. There’s no denying that Ford makes some of the best new cars on the market.
