Ford is recalling 144,000 vehicles over a rearview camera issue
Ford is one of the industry’s biggest automakers, making some of the best new cars. However, like many other automakers, it has a new car recall on its hands. This time, the issue impacts the rearview camera on some of the Blue Oval’s most popular pickup trucks, which could cause car wrecks. Here’s what’s going on with Ford’s latest recall.
Ford has a new car recall on its hands
Like all automakers, Ford is no stranger to a car recall. Unfortunately, it happens to the best of them. According to the Detroit Free Press, the Blue Oval has issued a recall for faulty rearview cameras. Specifically, the rearview cameras are prone to freezing when drivers are backing up, which is a massive safety issue as it could cause car wrecks.
Specifically, this car recall impacts the Ford Maverick from 2022 to 2024 equipped with the Connected Touch Radio. Most people with rearview cameras use them regularly, so owners will need to address this defect right away. As with most car recalls, Ford will handle the repair. Dealerships will be able to update the software that the Connected Touch Radio uses, which should be a relatively quick fix.
Ford will be sending out official notification about this car recall on September 30th and owners can also contact customer service with any questions they have. The number associated with this recall is 24S59. Of course, the Ford Maverick is one of the most popular pickup trucks on the market, which is why this recall impacts so many vehicles.
