It’s time to say goodbye. The Ford Edge SUV is being discontinued, but at least it’s going out with a bang. For some reason, the 2024 Ford Edge is experiencing explosive growth despite lingering on its deathbed.

Perhaps the fact that the 2024 Ford Edge is being discontinued created some sense of urgency. While Ford has tons of excellent SUVs in the lineup, the Edge recently exploded with the most sales growth.
It has more growing interest than the rugged Ford Bronco, eco-friendly Ford Escape, electrifying Ford Mustang Mach-E, and family-oriented Ford Expedition.
If you want a 2024 Edge, then jump on the bandwagon before they’re going. Production of this SUV will end in the second quarter of the year and sales will cease by the end of the year.
Ford sales increased by 10.5% in February, with hybrids and electric vehicles leading the charge. Hybrids are up by 36.7% year-to-date through the end of February, and EV sales increased by 80.8% year-over-year in February.
The 2024 Edge has a sales increase of 80.8% year-to-date, and 105.2% year-over-year compared to last February.
The F-150 has a 1.4% year-to-date sales increase, but a 5.8% decrease in February year-over-year. However, it still sold 100,531 models year-to-date through the end of February.
Maybe Ford needs to rethink its decision to discontinue the Edge. Ford decided to cut it out as it refocuses on building electric vehicles, and the Edge would need to fit that mold. However, Ford has recently decided to slow down on the transition to EVs.
You can get started with a 2024 Edge for $38,465. The $1,495 destination fee brings the starting price up to $39,960.
The standard turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine provides 250 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. Upgrade to the turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 engine for 335 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque. Plus, AWD comes standard.
While the 2024 Edge is engaging, spacious, and comfortable, the tech and its layout may feel dated. It hasn’t had any significant changes since 2015. Also, Ford is sending it out to pasture without any last-call upgrades.
