People have multiple options when looking for cheap gas prices, including diesel, regular, and other grades. However, all cars have guidelines for what fuel to use based on the engine. This means it can be detrimental to use the wrong fuel in your vehicle. Sadly, one Mississippi gas station is letting drivers know that there was a mix-up regarding its pumps.

There was a mix-up with regular gas and diesel

Everyone wants cheap gas prices, but sometimes, filling up your car can cause issues. According to WTVA, the Exxon gas station at the corner of West Main Street and Highway 45 Alternate had a mixup between regular fuel and diesel for their pumps. The store shared the news that the person delivering their fuel made the mistake of putting diesel in the tank for regular-grade gas. This means several customers would have filled their cars with the wrong fuel.

Luckily for drivers, the company that the Exxon station uses to deliver its fuel, including regular gas and diesel, will pay to fix any damage the mistake causes. However, customers will need their receipts for the unnamed company to pay for their vehicle issues that stemmed from the mixup.

As most people know, putting diesel in a car that takes regular gas can be detrimental. This is especially true if you try to drive a car with this mistake. In most cases, a vehicle with the wrong fuel will stall. However, engine problems are also highly possible because of the mixup. In particular, this could clog the fuel system. Anyone who has gotten diesel when their vehicle required something else should have the fuel drained.
