There has been much talk surrounding the decline in interest in the Honda Accord in 2024. However, that hasn’t hurt the legendary automaker, as Honda sales are up for the year. In fact, the Honda Civic, CR-V, and HR-V are all up considerably for 2024. Still, this doesn’t mean some of the automaker’s other vehicles aren’t down compared to 2023.

Honda sales are up for 2024 despite some of its models being down

According to CarScoops, Honda has seen a sales increase of about 12.3 percent so far in 2024 over 2023. Since the start of the year, 626,266 people have driven off the lot with new Honda vehicles. Of course, this excludes the sales figures for Acura vehicles. Partly responsible for the rise in sales for 2024 is the Honda Civic. The ever-popular compact sedan was up by 38.1 percent.

Regarding SUVs, the Honda CR-V and the HR-V saw increases for the first part of 2024. The CR-V rose by 19.9 percent to sell 196,204 units. The HR-V increased by a whopping 41.5 percent, with 129,788 people buying it. Of course, you can’t forget about the Honda Pilot, as it saw an 18.8 percent increase from 2023.

Of course, some Honda models saw sales declines for the year. The Honda Accord is down by 19.2 percent for 2024, while the Passport is 31.6 percent less popular than it was in 2023. Unfortunately, the Honda Ridgeline decreased by 27.4 percent for the year. Still, Honda has far more good news than bad, which isn’t the case for most automakers in 2024.
