The “super SUV” segment is growing with models like the Ferrari Purosangue, Aston Martin DBX, BMW XM, Porsche Cayenne Coupe GT, and others bringing blistering performance to the red-hot SUV marketplace. Leading the charge with its introduction in 2018 is the Lamborghini Urus, the Raging Bull’s solution for delivering Lambo performance, to the tune of at least 657 hp, in a more practical guise. But how much is a Lamborghini Urus in 2023? Well, that remains shrouded in a bit of mystery.

Lamborghini doesn’t advertise the Urus’ price

The adage, “If you have to ask, you probably can’t afford it,” appears to ring true with the Raging Bull’s super SUV. Though Lamborghini allows prospective buyers to choose their model preference and tailor it to their desires, pricing for the Urus isn’t made available. Instead, after working the configurator, potential buyers are prompted to “send contact request” to actually get to the nuts and bolts of the Urus, including its price tag. Even the media pack given for the Urus doesn’t include its base price.

However, Lamborghini will eagerly tell those interested that the standard Urus S’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 will rocket the sizable super SUV from stop to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 305 kph (189.5 mph).

Lamborghini shielding the base cost of a Urus could be a result of its “ad personem” customization options, which allow buyers to pay more to customize their model down to the smallest of details. Not to mention, there is a bevy of options and packages offered.

According to Car and Driver, though, Urus S buyers can expect $233,995 for a 2023 model, with the Performante version upping the price to $268,666 (is that a Diablo reference?).

So, just how much Lamborghini do you get for more than a quarter of a million dollars?

2023 Lamborghini Urus specs

Though its price and performance are anything but basic, the Lamborghini Urus S serves as the base model. Its twin-turbo V8 delivers 657 hp and 627 lb.-ft. of torque through all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The standard performance kit includes composite ceramic brake rotors behind 21-inch wheels and performance tires, an adjustable air suspension, rear-axle torque vectoring, front and center differentials, and four-wheel steering.

Beyond its instantly recognizable Lamborghini design, the Urus’ interior features tailored leather upholstery, soft-close doors, dual infotainment screens, a digital instrument cluster, heated front seats, a Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless charging, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and a power liftgate.

A suite of driver’s aids, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, blind-spot warning, and a head-up display, are also included on the Urus S.

Those wanting more performance and luxury can spend $35,000 more for the Urus Performante. The top-spec Urus is powered by the same twin-turbo V8 delivering 657 hp, but its performance is enhanced with features like a high-performance exhaust system, a lowered and sportier suspension, bits of carbon fiber bodywork, a rally driving mode, and 22-inch wheels.

The Performante also ups the luxe features of the Urus with Alcantara and leather upholstery.

Of course, there is also a bevy of customization options and packages available, so it’s unlikely that those who can afford a Urus will pay near the “sticker” price.
