Hyundai told this Kona driver everything was fine after her brakes failed, causing a crash
Hyundai makes some of the best new cars on the market. However, despite recent improvements, the automaker’s vehicles have had a number of issues. This was especially evident in a recent online storytime when a Hyundai owner shared that the brakes failed in her brand-new Kona.
This Hyundai owner has an accident due to the brakes
According to Daily Dot, Emma Clarke (@emmaclarke2) took to TikTok to share her experience as a Hyundai owner. She says she was driving one day when the brakes on her new Hyundai Kona failed to engage. She bought the car in October of 2023 and has had it serviced twice since, meaning the brake failure is not on her.
Emma informed her viewers on TikTok that she had to crash into something to stop. However, the strange thing is that the brakes began to work after the crash. Still, she says they didn’t engage as they were supposed to, so stopping was still a bit of a chore. The Hyundai owner reached out to the company hoping they would do something or they could provide some insight into why the brakes on her new Hyundai Kona, which is one of the best new cars, didn’t work as they should have.
The owner shared what Hyundai told her in an update. According to her, “They literally said nothing was wrong and recommended me to put my car in park when I am sitting still.” Notably, there have been several issues with Hyundai vehicles and their brakes. Still, one would assume the company would be more aggressive in figuring out what would cause one of its most popular SUVs to experience intermittent brake failure.
