What’s All Included in the New 2024 Nissan GT-R T-Spec Trim Level?
The automotive press and enthusiasts have long been expecting the arrival of the Nissan GT-R’s R35 generation. Still, its potential arrival will have to wait until at least the 2025 model year. However, the 2024 model has been given several updates, the most prominent of which is the return of the T-Spec trim level. So, what all is included in the new T-Spec trim?
The 2024 Nissan GT-R is available in 3 trims
The T-Spec trim serves as the midrange model between the base Premium and the more powerful Nismo variant of the 2024 Nissan GT-R.
The most notable difference between the models is their power outputs. Both the base GT-R and T-Spec are motivated by a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6 developing 565 horsepower and 467 lb-ft of torque that has served as the GT-R’s standard engine since the 2020 model year. The Nismo cranks up the output to 600 horsepower and 481 lb-ft of twist.
The GT-R Premium is fitted with a sport suspension, electronically controlled shock absorbers, Brembo brakes at all four corners, 20-inch forged wheels, and a limited-slip differential to capitalize on its prodigious power.
The base GT-R also features leather/synthetic suede upholstery, an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay connectivity, dual-zone automatic climate control, an 11-speaker Bose audio system, navigation, and front/rear parking sensors.
The GT-R Nismo includes a host of performance upgrades like a front limited-slip differential, a first for the model, carbon-ceramic brake rotors, Recaro front sport seats, lightweight forged wheels, carbon-fiber bodywork, a Nismo-tuned suspension, and Nismo-specific interior accents.
Pricing varies by six figures between the three models. The Premium models start at $120,990, and the Nismo tops the range at $220,990.
What’s unique about the GT-R T-Spec?
The T-Spec, which starts at $140,990, bridges the performance and pricing gap between the standard Nissan GT-R and the Nismo. It uses the same stability control and traction control tuning as the Nismo, its carbon ceramic brakes, and Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT600 ultra-high performance tires with a Nismo-specific compound. However, it has several styling cues which are entirely unique to the new trim.
The T-Spec is available in two “heritage” exterior paint hues, including Millennium Jade, which harkens back to the GT-R V-Spec II Nür, and Midnight Purple, which takes its inspiration from the current-gen GT-R V-Spec. The T-Spec uses the same 20-inch forged wheels as the Nismo model, but they wear a gold sheen in the new model. Inside, the T-Spec features unique Mori Green upholstery with semi-aniline and suede upholstery on the front seats.
The T-Spec also sports 0.5-inch wider front wheels, fenders, and black hood ducts.
Other updates to the 2024 Nissan GT-R
The 2024 Nissan GT-R has been given minor styling tweaks. The front fascia has a slightly boxier look compared to the outgoing model, the upper grille has been slimmed down, the smaller intakes adjacent to the bumper lights are more squared off, and lights have been integrated into the front fenders. The rear diffuser now sports a mesh inlay and is slightly boxier.
Nissan also claims the 2024 model has improved aerodynamic performance, but its drag coefficient remains unchanged at 0.26.
