Koenigsegg makes some of the best supercars money can buy, and the Jesko is one of its many legendary models. Unfortunately, a Koenigsegg Jesko recently caught fire and burned to the point that it became unrecognizable. This isn’t the first supercar to go up in flames as the same thing recently happened with a McLaren Artura mere months ago. Koenigsegg urged owners to park their multi-million dollar supercars.
The Koenigsegg Jesko is one of the best supercars money can buy
According to Motor1, a Koenigsegg Jesko recently caught fire in Greece. Luckily, no one was injured in the fire, but two people were riding in the car when it happened. Initial reports say the two were leaving a hotel and were driving at low speeds. However, in an email to owners, Koenigsegg stated that the car was traveling at high speeds.
Currently, there is no apparent reason why one of the best supercars would burst into flame like this Koenigsegg Jesko did. However, according to reports, temperatures were more than 100 degrees. The same thing happened to a McLaren Artura back in October of 2023. Like this one, no one became injured in that fire, and there was no clear reason why it went up in flames.
Naturally, many people think the more extreme nature of cars like the Jesko and the McLaren Artura could be the reason. However, readers should note that fires in supercars are still rare. As mentioned, Koenigsegg sent a do not drive order to the owners of the Jesko as they investigated what happened.
People love the Koenigsegg Jesko. Introduced in 2019, it has a price tag that surpasses $ 3 million, and it’s among the best supercars because it only needs about 2.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour. The Jesko uses a hefty twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 engine that makes 1,280 horsepower and has a torque of 1,106 lb-ft. Naturally, this was a limited production vehicle. However, there are other versions such as the Jesko Attack and the Absolut.
