How Much Does a Fully Loaded 2024 Nissan Leaf Cost?
The Nissan Leaf is not only one of the most recognizable electric cars, but it also helped usher EVs into the mainstream in the same way the Toyota Prius popularized hybrid cars. The Leaf has made some significant advancements since its introduction in 2011, though it’s now far from the only player in the mainstream EV segment. So, for those who still want the original mass-produced EV, how much can buyers expect to pay for a new Leaf, both in its base form and its range-topping model with added accessories and packages? Here’s how much a fully loaded 2024 Nissan Leaf costs.
The 2024 Nissan Leaf starts at $28,140
The Nissan Leaf was refreshed for the 2023 model year with minimalistic exterior styling updates to the grille and front fascia, new wheels, and an illuminated Nissan badge. Additionally, the lineup was reduced from five to two trims. With these updates made just last year, the 2024 Leaf rides into its latest guise with no significant updates.
With Chevrolet discontinuing the Bolt in the near future, the 2024 Nissan Leaf is set to reclaim its title as the most affordable EV on the market. The 2024 Leaf is available in two trims, S and SV Plus, with prices starting at $29,235 (with destination charges included).
The standard Leaf is equipped with a 147-hp single motor driving the front wheels with a 40kWh battery pack. Its EPA-estimated driving range is 149 miles on a full charge. According to Nissan, the Leaf S can recharge up to 80% in 40 minutes (20 minutes faster than the more powerful SV Plus). A portable charging cable is included for connecting to a 120- or 240-volt outlet.
Standard exterior features of the Leaf S include 16-inch steel wheels, automatic headlights with high-beam assist, halogen headlights, LED taillights, and a lockable, illuminated charge port.
The cabin features synthetic 60/40 split rear folding seats, four total USB ports, Bio Suede PET cloth upholstery, a six-way manual-adjusting driver’s seat, and a four-speaker audio system. An 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and SiriusXM connectivity is standard.
The 2024 Nissan Leaf also delivers a sizeable list of driver’s aids, including automatic emergency braking, blind-spot warning with steering intervention and rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, and rear automatic braking.
The upgraded Leaf SV Plus adds more range and amenities
It is a lot easier to choose between Nissan Leaf models now that just two trims are offered, and the SV Plus tops the range at $37,285 with a destination charge.
The SV Plus’ most notable upgrade is its powertrain. It is fitted with a 160kW electric motor developing 214 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque with a 60kWh battery pack. Its EPA-estimated driving range is 212 miles on a single charge, a notable 63 more miles than the Leaf S.
In addition to its added range and power, the SV Plus offers more desirable features.
It wears 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and other exterior upgrades like heated outside mirrors, LED headlights and running lights, and includes fog lights. Inside, the SV Plus sports an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, six-speaker audio, navigation, and NissanConnect Services, allowing for remote vehicle connection.
Additionally, the SV Plus comes standard with a heat pump, smart cruise control, a surround-view monitor, Nissan’s ProPilot Assist semi-autonomous driving system, and driver alertness monitoring.
Options and accessories for the 2024 Nissan Leaf
As Nissan has worked to streamline its Leaf lineup, options for the 2024 Leaf are strictly limited to accessories.
The exterior can be fitted with a Protection Package ($280) with a front bumper, charging port, and chrome rear bumper protection, but it requires splash guards ($245) and a carpeted cargo area protector and floor mats ($285). Four exterior paint colors are offered for the Leaf S, and all are no-cost options.
Inside, the S trim can be fitted with all-season floor mats ($190), kick plates ($160), a cargo organizer ($260), or a USB charging cable set ($90).
The SV Plus offers all the same accessories, but buyers have a few more customization options with added-cost exterior paints like two-tone Pearl White and Super Black ($695) or Deep Blue Pearl, Scarlet Ember, or Pearl White TriCoat, all of which add $395. The SV Plus can also be fitted with rear cup holders and a “stash tray” for $120.
All-in, a 2024 Nissan Leaf SV Plus with every available, non-conflicting option, from cost-added exterior paint to an illuminated ash cup, rings in at $39,984 MSRP.
