The original Mean Girls movie is one of the most iconic teen comedies of the modern era. Of course, in no way, shape, or form is this a car movie, but the new version, which is a musical, uses a pretty notable car in a significant scene. The main antagonist, Regina George, drives a pink Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, which is easily one of the best midsize SUVs. She drives a Lexus SC430 in the 2004 version of Mean Girls.

Fans of Mean Girls know that one of the most quotable parts of the movie is when Regina George says, “Get in, loser. We’re going shopping.” The 2024 version of Mean Girls puts Regina, Cady, and the other girls in a pink Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Fortunately, this is an upgrade to the Lexus SC430 the character owned in the original film. This is a nice touch and even helps to modernize the movie. Of course, pink is also the signature color of the main characters, known as the plastics.
The scene in question is pretty short in the new Mean Girls film. Still, that doesn’t stop car lovers who may see the movie from wondering about the Jeep. It’s hard to say which model year it is, but it has to be 2021 or after, as this is when the automaker introduced the pink Jeep.
The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is among the best midsize SUVs
As mentioned before, it’s hard to say which year model Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Regina George uses in the new Mean Girls movie. According to NJ.com, they shot the film in early 2023. This makes it plausible that the production used a 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon for the scene. However, this is only a guess.
Regarding the Jeep in question, the color is Tuscadero. This is a limited-edition exterior color option that has been around since 2021. Of course, it’s rare to see a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon in this shade, but it truly stands out. This is probably one reason they used the Jeep in the film beyond the fact that it’s the characters’ signature color.
The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is one of the best midsize SUVs for power. The most common version uses a 3.6-liter V6 engine with a maximum output of 285 horsepower and a torque of 260 lb-ft. There are automatic and manual versions of the Jeep. This model takes about seven seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour. Notably, the Lexus SC430 used in the first Mean Girls movie isn’t that great of a car, so it’s great that Regina drives something more modern and sporty.
